I am so sorry I have been so bad at updating my Blog! Well there are a few major reasons why that is and I have explained why in an Email. If you haven't received that email and would like one please let me know and I would gladly send it to you.
Long story short.. I am no longer staffing at YWAM Naga, and have become a full time missionary worker of the Church I was attending while in YWAM! The church is Presbyterian and its full name is, Pamukid Presbyterian Church or PPC for short. It was planted here about 22 years ago by Korean missionaries. Since starting we have had so many amazing ministry opportunities! I am also living in a room on my own just next to the church. I am never lonely as my fiancé and his family live a very short walk away, and the Pastor of the church and his wife and children live right next to me also. Although now I am cooking and cleaning for myself which is different to the communal living in YWAM Naga.
I am blessed to say I am not alone in this journey with this church. During my parents and brothers visit, whilst discussing our future missions together it really seemed right for my fiancé to start full time missions as well in the church now as God was shutting so many doors at his, (at the time) work place. We had planned for him to start full time missions once we got married. But after talking to my parents, and Pastor we agreed it was right for him to start now.
We are both doing feedings every day for the children who live around this area. This is a chocolate drink full of nutrients, vitamins, minerals, de-worming and many more beneficial facts. We also help in the week with any jobs that come up, like cleaning, maintenance, polishing the Sunday School floor etc... Bible study prep, prayer meeting, worship and youth meetings. We have recently helped on our DVBS, Daily Vacation Bible school which we ran for the church and local children, it was full on busy but so rewarding to see the kids learning more about Jesus! We also helped on a church camp held here in Pamukid. About 100 kids and youth attended, and because of the financial support I get, we were able to pay for some of the church children, and local children to attend which was such a blessing! We could see them growing closer to God during the camp. Some of the youth that went on the camp are helping us with our new out reach............

This to me is the most exciting news........We have started 2 new out reach locations with our church. We have asked if any of the youth would like to come along to support these ministries. We are disciplining the youth as well as reaching out to so many poor and needy children who are so thirsty for the Word of God. We will also be feeding them a big meal once a month and when they don't have a meal we bring snacks!
Planza | Sanjoaquin |
The first location is in Planza, there are so many children there and right now around 30! They range in age so many are babies yet some are 14! The church youth are really helping us with the children and gathering them off the streets. The children really are not shy and so open to us coming to visit and teach them. One of the best things about this location is we have a small area of land which is owned by the church. This allows us always to have a space to teach in and bring the kids to. | Our second new outreach location is completely in the jungle! They have no proper shops around them and if they don't have a vehicle it takes them around 30mins to walk to a road which has public transport to take them to the nearest city. It is such a poor area. I love it here so much because the children are so thankful. They are quieter and more shy than Planza but there are a lot more of them. This week we had around 50 Children attend. I am so blessed to be able to reach out to so many kids! God is good! |
